Before we get into the details

When you upload an image for background removal, we upload it securely, process it to produce your cutout, let you preview and download the result, and retain it only as long as needed for the Service and your account settings. We do not publish your files on our marketing pages, and we do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your uploads to train machine learning models unless you give separate, explicit consent through a feature that asks for it.

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors and users of bgly.net and related pages that link to this policy (the "Service"). The data controller is the operator of bgly.net ("we", "us", or "our").

1. Information we process

1.1 Information you provide

• Account data — email address, name or profile details from sign-in providers (such as Google), and account preferences.
• Support messages — content of emails or tickets you send us.
• Payment-related data — billing country, transaction IDs, and subscription status. Payment card numbers are processed by our payment providers (for example, Stripe or Creem); we do not store full card numbers.

1.2 Images and task data

When you use background removal, we process:

• Uploaded images (Input) and generated cutouts (Output)
• Task metadata (timestamps, settings such as subject type and precision, status, credit usage)
• Preview URLs and download records

Logged-in users: outputs may be stored in your account history and in our cloud storage so you can return to past jobs.

Guest users: tasks may be tied to a device identifier (cookie) for free-quota enforcement. Guest outputs are generally not stored in a long-term private library like paid accounts.

To run the job, images are sent to third-party AI infrastructure (currently including fal.ai) and may be stored on cloud object storage (for example, Cloudflare R2 or equivalent) for delivery and account history.

1.3 Information collected automatically

• Device and log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps (typically retained in server logs for a limited period, up to approximately 90 days, unless a longer period is required for security investigations).
• Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies, locale preferences, and (for guests) identifiers used to enforce daily free quota and abuse prevention.
• Analytics — aggregated usage data to understand traffic and product performance (for example, page views and conversion events), where enabled.
• Anti-abuse signals — including Cloudflare Turnstile or similar verification when guest free quota is used.

1.4 Information from third parties

If you sign in with a third-party provider, we may receive your name, email address, and profile identifier as permitted by that provider and your settings.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service (including processing your images and delivering downloads)
• Manage accounts, credits, subscriptions, and billing
• Communicate with you about the Service, security, and support
• Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy
• Measure marketing and attribution (for example, UTM parameters recorded at sign-up)
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

We process personal data on bases including contract performance (providing the Service you request), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement — balanced against your rights), consent (where required, such as optional marketing), and legal obligation.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Infrastructure and AI providers — to process images, host files, send email, and operate the website (under confidentiality and data-processing terms where applicable)
• Payment processors — to complete purchases and manage subscriptions
• Analytics and security providers — to measure usage and protect the Service
• Professional advisers and authorities — when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (with appropriate safeguards)

If we use subprocessors to process personal data, we require them to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.

4. International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) for cross-border transfers.

5. Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above:

When retention ends, we delete or anonymize data where feasible. Backups may persist for a limited period before overwrite.

6. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the Service, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and provider security practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for protecting your account credentials.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, locale, quota enforcement, analytics, and security. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work if cookies are disabled.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Third-party links

Our Service may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
